Senior IT Administrator



The Senior IT Administrator at OpenSlate is a hands-on technical position based out of NYC, responsible for all aspects of our global staff and their Mac and PC desktop workstations.  Ideal candidates have a love to automate all aspects of this position; from provisioning, maintaining, and upgrading systems, to automatically managing third party service accounts.  Candidates must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively with all organizational levels.

Responsibilities & Essential Functions

  • Experience implementing and supporting device management tools such as Microsoft InTune, SCCM, Jamf, etc.
  • Experience remotely managing desktop systems located across the globe
  • Centrally administer systems and software package delivery and deployment
  • Support and maintain a globally distributed workforce with any IT issues
  • Ensure workstations are kept up to date and patched with the latest security updates
  • Evaluate current and recommend changes to IT policies, procedures and practices
  • Document and maintain relevant workstation management procedures
  • Build dashboards and reports pertaining to overall system health, such as operating system and application versions, system backup status, etc.
  • Experience with backup tools such as CrashPlan, backup management, and restoring user files from backups.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate non-technical and technical matters effectively, both verbal and written
  • Building and testing of enterprise software deployment packages
  • Owns, produces, and maintains customer documentation. Ability to translate technical details into concise and easy to understand written form.
  • Oversee and optimize hardware and service procurement and configuration (e.g. Mac & PC hardware, conferencing software such as BlueJeans, Zoom, etc.)

Requirements

  • 5-7 years proven working experience in IT or relevant industry
  • Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis, and computer hardware/software system
  • Proficient in core infrastructure technologies such as DNS, DHCP, LDAP, VLANS, VPN, etc.
  • Ideal candidates have a working knowledge of tools such as CrashPlan, LastPass, GSuite
  • Ideal candidates have experience developing automations around third-party account provisioning and management through the use of 3rd party APIs.
